The Journal of the Mercy Association in Scripture and Theology

Breathe in the Breath of God

We awaken to life…

We awaken to death…

Breaking News…

Harsh, Indignant, Deplorable

Suicide, Homicide and Misery…

Fields of Danger

Human trafficking

No safety with Mama…

Weakened faith…

Stripped of hope…

Six bullets laid Daddy down.

No home security…

Locked doors busted

Piercing screams splinter silence.

The powerful sleep,

The elderly are afraid to slumber.

Neighbors keep vigil…

Children cry in fear…

Adults in protest.

Tears smeared with pepper spray.

Humans sacrificed for peace.

Slammed to the ground…

Brutalized

Terrorized

Dehumanized.

Persist in faith!

Swallow God’s

unconquerable Grace!

Let Evil strangle as

Grace dissipates!

Red, yellow, brown, black, and white…

Citizen, immigrant, green card, passport…

It matters not!

God’s power is revealed.

Seek channels of hope

Breathe!

Transform your soul!

Breathe in the breath of God.

Breathe

Breathe

Breathe
