About the Journal

Mission

The mission of the Mercy Association of Scripture and Theology Journal is to publish articles on Scripture, theology, spirituality and the Mercy charism through international, intercultural, intergenerational lenses of the Mercy world.

Guideposts

1. The MAST Journal offers articles rooted in theological reflection, scholarship, and experience in order to educate and engage people in thoughtful reflection and conversation around contemporary issues in the Church, society and religious life.

2. The MAST Journal explores the values, perspectives and concerns of women religious particularly through the lens of the Mercy charism.

3. The MAST Journal educates and promotes reflection and dialogue around theology and spirituality, with particular attention to personal, ecclesial, and societal transformation toward a more just and inclusive world.

4. The MAST Journal welcomes a diversity of voices and perspectives from across the global family of Mercy and friends on current spiritual and theological issues.

5. The MAST Journal is an expression of the path of mercy in the world today.

Publishing Information

The MAST Journal begun in 1991, is published online three times a year in January, May and September by the Mercy Association in Scripture and Theology. Additional content is offered throughout the year on the website, social channels, and email.
