James Marshall, educator, and catechist, holds a BS in Biology and an MA in Pastoral Ministry, with emphasis in catechetics, both from Santa Clara University in northern California. He was a science teacher in public schools at the middle and high school for thirty-two years. His catechetical ministry of over 45 years, especially with the RCIA, has been principally through his local parish, Sacred Heart of Jesus in San José. He currently serves the Diocese of San Jose on the Catechumenate Committee and the Synodal Diocesan Pastoral Plan Family Team. He is married to Darlene, is the father of two, and grandfather of five beautiful human beings. He describes his location in the “Valley of the Hearts Delight,” San José, California since his birth in San Francisco. He is an active member of a local Commonweal Discussion Group.
