A native of Guam, Sister Francis Jerome spent almost all of her teaching career at the Academy of Our Lady of Guam, serving as a British literature teacher, principal and finally president for the last ten years before her retirement in 2015. Sister also served as regional superior for the Sisters of Mercy, Guam Region from 1980 to 1988 and several terns as councilor. She is working now on a history of the Sisters of Mercy in Guam.

Welcoming the Stranger: A Moral Imperative

But, no matter, relationship is what makes us truly human, and to be truly human we need to be present to one another. We are persons with feeling and emotion, and we respond to the human presence, feel the human touch, hear the human voice, see the human tears, listen and understand the human fears.
