Catherine Darcy entered the Sisters of Mercy in 1970. She has earned a BA in Mathematics Georgian Court College, a JCL at the Catholic University of America, JCD/PhD St. Paul’s University/University of Ottawa in Ontario, Canada. Since completing her canon law studies in 1991, Catherine served at the Dioceses of Trenton, Las Cruces and Camden and taught the Pastoral Dimension of Canon Law at Georgian Court University. She has also served in congregational and health care leadership, and on the Sisters of Mercy Justice Team. Presently, she serves on the Board of Directors for CMHE and the Alliance to End Human Trafficking.
We know, however, that the purpose of our vows is not an end in and of themselves. Rather the vows we profess serve to herald and further the Reign of God, right now and right here in our earthly home. Every time we pray our common Christian prayer we pray for God’s reign to come “on earth as it is in heaven.”
